Unfortunately we did not get as much done as we had hoped on our final day in Shanghai due to us having to rework our travel plans due to the heavy flooding across the entire Yangtze Basin, disrupting transportation links and making travel along our initial route impossible (for now). Instead we’ll try and see if we can get a peek at Wuhan tomorrow before the rains return so not to get stranded, before heading up to Beijing to travel part of the way along the Yellow River before rerouting to our original plans.
However, we did get a chance to study one of Shanghai’s largest transportation links as well as Pudong, where towers have sprouted out of nothing in the past twenty years, quickly catching up with, as well as small residential areas with communal water facilities creating tight knit neighbourhoods.
